Week 2 (23-26 October)

Welcome to Week 2 :)
We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend - what fabulous weather! Fingers crossed it stays around.

Classroom Release Time
This week Room 18 children have Art with Mrs McHaffie on Thursday. Room 19 children will have their CRT next week with Mr Lukes.

Lego Evening
This Friday from 5-7pm is our Lego Evening with loads of lego to play with including technic lego for older children. You are welcome to buy tickets for non-Waimairi friends, cousins, neighbours etc. $5 per ticket available at the office. There will also be a sausage sizzle and bacon butties for sale on the night. Thanks to our awesome PTA team for organising this - the children are so excited about it!

Tennis and Sunhats
Our next tennis lesson is next week on Monday 29th October. Please ensure children have a sunhat at school - it was disappointing to see so many children without hats on a very hot day last week, so please remember to send these along every day.

As of this week duty teachers will be keeping an eye on hats in the playground and children who do not have a blue school sunhat will be reminded of the need to play in the shade/under the trees. This does eliminate a lot of playground choices - so please dig those hats out. Sunscreen is also available in the classroom for children to use as well.

Library Day
Our class library day is Friday. Books and library folders can be returned at any time during the week to the yellow library containers.

Kapa Haka
Junior Kapa Haka is on Tuesday afternoon from 1.30-2pm.

Craft Club
Craft club runs on Tuesday lunchtimes from 12.45pm in Room 22 for children who would like to come along and create things. A huge thank you to our parents who help organise this - lots of Kohara children love attending and then sharing what they have made.

Playground Leaders
Our senior playground leaders are available to run games for the junior children on Monday through to Thursday lunchtimes. Meet at the big tree by the boiler shed at 12.45pm to join in the fun.

Reading Book Returns
Thanks to our book helpers last week - your time is most appreciated. If you are able to help out this week with returning books please let us know.

Poetry Folders
Please encourage children to put these in our green poetry boxes on a Monday.

Meet Up
We will have Meet Up on Tuesday morning this week. You are most welcome to join us in the hall from 8:50am for this.

Have a great week :)
