Week 10 (2-6 July)

Welcome to Week 10.

End of Term
Term 2 finishes this Friday 6 July at 3pm.
Term 3 begins on Monday 23 July.
Enjoy the term break with your children. We look forward to hearing all about it when school returns.

Classroom Release Time
Room 18 have Art with Mrs McHaffie and Room 19 have PE with Mr Lukes on Thursday afternoon from 1.30-3pm this week.

Matariki Day
Join us at 7.15am on Wednesday 4 July to celebrate Matariki. All children and whanau to meet on the back field by the Westholme Gate at 7.15am ready to be welcomed.

Following the welcome there is a shared breakfast - our Rakaia River team will be serving breakfast in Ara Atu (Rooms 14/15 opposite the hall). Children will need to bring a named bowl and spoon in a bag.

Then you are welcome to join guest speaker Ian Taylor in the hall after 8am. Children may join this if they wish.

Roll will be taken back in class at 9am and then the children will be working in mixed groups and rotating around our Rakaia River teachers to do a variety of Matariki inspired activities.

Hangi - join us from 12.30pm for a hangi lunch or enjoy some tasty treats from our international community.

After lunch you are welcome to visit classes to view our Science learning from the term. Then children may go home early if their parent is there to take them but please let your class teacher know if you leave.

Lost Property
Any unclaimed lost property will be sent to the hall this week so please claim any unnamed items that may belong to your family.

Reading Book Returns
We would really appreciate a parent helper to shelve our reading books back in the book room before the end of the week. A huge thank you to our Mums who have helped out with this in recent weeks - we really do appreciate your time with this.
